First thing i came to the office, i was taken to meet the Shell's mechanical engineer and structural engineer. I saw the project they have to complete and it look rather fun and massive. Its was about providing compressors and glycol regeneration plant for an oil platform. After that, i was brought around the office to see how the documents were prepared to meet the vendors. I was able to see the isometric view of the compressor layout and assembly and also the platform's layout. There was a mistake in the document so that's why we were running around to get it done before the meeting. After lunch, I was given a small talk to end the last week's topic on pumps. This time it was about the control systems such as valve, bypass, on/off system and variable speed control. From that, it looks like the best would be variable speed control. He also briefed us about the economics on using different control systems.

I received my second book. This book is a comprehensive book about compressors. It informs on how it works, layouts, control systems, and safety measures. Then i was given my assignment which is to do a write up on compressors. It has to be presentable and clear to the point. So i spend my whole day analyzing it while my supervisor was busy running around as his clients were around today.

I attended a meeting with the project manager's team. While i was there, i manage to learn how to deal and write a proper document for the vendors. They also discussed about the plan and schedule the time to get the documents from the vendors. After all that, they talked about efficient ways to store and review the documents because it is hard to do that at present time with too many formalities. As usual i was confused and lost with the jargons used. Then after the meeting, my supervisor gave me a list of important jargons they usually use during a meeting.
